web site primarily details the family roots of the Pender
family who originated from Scotland. I am a descendant from
my father’s family. I have also been researching the
Dunwoodie family who originated from both Ireland and Scotland.
I am descended via my grandmother's side of the family.
At the present
time, most of the information contained on this web site has
been obtained from other web sites. I have included links
to these on the Links page. I am extremely grateful for the
information that these sites have provided. For this information,
I cannot guarantee that the information is accurate. I and
another researcher are in the process of verifying the details
by obtaining certificates, visiting web sites such as ScotlandsPeople,
visiting the Family Records Office in London and the visiting
the Scotland Records Office in Edinburgh.
A family tree is
published on this site. It is presently being updated on a
regular basis. As the sources of information in the tree are
verified, the level of verification (i.e. how much you can
trust the data) will be indicated. The approach behind this
is detailed further on the Sources page.
For example, information
obtained from other family tree web sites provides basic verification.
The source will either be indicated by "Obtained via
web" or the web site is stated or may even be left blank.
Proof supported by birth, marriage and death certificates
provides the best verification (though note I could misread
or misinterpret the data).
